Utah - Fall, 2001
Capitol Reef National Park

After all these days we were still on the straight highways of Utah. And here it was, Chimney Rock. So we did one more hike before hitting the road back to Denver.

The Chimney Rock Hike can be done in either direction. We took the fork to the left. Either way there is an elevation to climb. But I do think the left way was better.

This was at the "summit" of the trail looking back.

On this hike and after so many days of dessert, I was really in to texture. This picture is an example of dessert variety.

And every rock had a texture of its own

This hike had a wide variety of geology. It made you want to take a course. I recommend it if you have the time.
